Ken grew up in rural Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin on an academic scholarship where he majored in math and education, was elected student body president, and played on the college golf team. After graduating with honors, he taught high school math and coached basketball and golf for the next two years. He then discovered computers, entered the computer field, and worked in a wide variety of software development and management positions for several Fortune 500 companies. In 1981, Ken and his family visited friends in Peachtree City and fell head over heels in love with this unique place. A few months later, the Parker family moved to Peachtree City from Schaumburg, Illinois and began enjoying the wonderful lifestyle found here. In 1987, Ken decided on a career change — Real Estate. As a beginner, he affiliated with Coldwell Banker where he earned their Outstanding First Year Achievement Award. Then in 1989, he joined RE/MAX Around Atlanta Results because of their outstanding system for getting results and rewarding top producers. Ken has earned million dollar sales awards every year since he started, with sales as high as $10 million in a single year. He attributes his success in real estate to many of the disciplines he learned in the corporate world: patience, planning, preparation, organization, attention to detail, communications, enthusiasm, the pursuit of excellence, and lots of hard work. Ken is a veteran of well over 500 closings in his 21-year real estate career. As one of the top producers in Fayette and Coweta counties, he is a Life Member of the Circle of Achievement, Phoenix award winner, has been awarded membership in the RE/MAX 100% Club, Executive Club, President's Club, and the prestigious Hall of Fame. His specialty is "Buyer Representation" where his overall knowledge and experience weigh heavily in his working in the best interest of his clients, allowing them to benefit greatly from his exceptional knowledge of the local market while counseling them every step of the way. Ken earned a buyer's agent professional designation, awarded to those Realtors whose experience and special education prepared them for this buyer-oriented service. Ken also earned the e-PRO professional designation for completing coursework designed to help real estate professionals thrive in the competitive world of online, Internet-based real estate. Ken is also extremely successful in the marketing of homes. As a listing agent, nearly 100% of his listings sell -- on average, in 45 days at 98.6% of full price. Ken's avid interest in computers carries over into his busy real estate practice where he boasts a nearly paperless office. He takes a lot of pride in his website, as he designed and developed it himself and is responsible for its high-Internet presence. Additionally, Ken holds the rank of Silver Life Master at tournament bridge, enjoys golf, scuba, travel, fishing, movies, reading, and is passionate about the Rocky Mountains, the Caribbean, and tiny Rhode Island.
